Newton County recorded 17 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, putting the county's total at 1,274, according to statistics posted this afternoon on the Newton County Health Department Facebook page.
The number of people who are in isolation increased from 166 to 183, with the number hospitalized remaining at four.
The county has had 20 deaths due to COVID-19.
The statistics do not include the portion of Newton County that is is located in the Joplin city limits.
