KOAM is rightly celebrating anchor Dowe Quick's 40 years with the station.
Besides having one of the all-time great names for a news anchor, Quick has provided this area with a steady, solid professional presence for four decades.
The best part of being able to celebrate Quick's impressive body of work is that the celebration doesn't come because of a retirement.
Local television is notorious for its high rate of turnover, especially in the Joplin market, one of the smallest in the United States.
Being able to have a veteran presence during these troubled times is something worth celebrating.
