Joplin confirms 42 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, Mercy, Freeman nearing capacity

 

The city of Joplin confirmed 42 new COVID-19 cases, according to statistics posted this morning on the city's COVID-19 dashboard.

To date, Joplin has had 1,563 cases.

The number of active cases increased from 108 to 179, while the number of people who are under quarantine dropped from 286 to 276.

The number of city residents hospitalized remained at 21, but the number of COVID-19 patients at Freeman and Mercy hospitals increased from 57 to 60.

Joplin has recorded 25 deaths due to COVID-19.
