McDonald, Newton, Jasper, Barton counties' COVID-19 test positivity rates among highest in state


The state of Missouri reached the 2,200 mark in deaths due to COVID-19, according to statistics released this morning by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Twenty-six deaths were recorded since the last posting 24 hours ago.

An additional 1,165 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 134,583.

Four Missouri counties are among the top eight for highest positivity rate of coronavirus tests with McDonald County number one at 20 percent, Newton County tied for second at 19 percent, Jasper County tied for fourth with 17 percent and Barton County tied for eighth at 14 percent.
