Woman in her 70s is Greene County's 131st COVID-19 death, 54 deaths this month

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is saddened to announce the death of one Greene County resident from COVID-19.

Our community lost a woman in her 70s.

The Health Department extends our condolences to everyone impacted by this loss.

Fifty-four deaths have been reported by the Health Department in October. A total of 131 Greene County residents have died from COVID-19.








Yesterday (Wednesday, October 21), we received 84 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Greene County. Our current total is 9,213 confirmed cases.

The total number of hospitalizations reported yesterday was incorrect. As of yesterday morning, there were 181 COVID-19 positive individuals admitted in our local hospitals. The other numbers reported were correct.

As of this morning, there were still 181 COVID-19 positive individuals hospitalized at either CoxHealth or Mercy Hospital Springfield. 72 of those individuals are Greene County residents.
