Consumer goods company files antitrust lawsuit against Leggett & Platt, other mattress companies

 reports that Maven, a home consumer goods company, has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Carthage-based Leggett & Platt and six other companies claiming they are attempting to monopolize the mattress market through acts designed to eliminate competition.

The other companies named in the suit are Corsicana Mattress, Future Foam, FXI Holdings, Serta Simmons Bidding, Tempur Sealy International and Brooklyn Bedding, Inc.

John Quante, Leggett & Platt vice president of marketing, bedding, said “We recently became aware of an antitrust lawsuit filed against several defendants. We deny the allegations and believe the lawsuit is completely without merit. We plan to vigorously defend ourselves.”
