The city of Joplin reached 50 deaths due to COVID-19 today with the Joplin Health Department's announcement that two more deaths had been recorded.
City officials have reported 14 deaths this month, with 13 added in the past eight days.
The latest victims were two women, aged 58 and 83.
Forty-nine new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed during a 24-hour period, according to statistics posted on the city's COVID-19 dashboard. That followed 56 the previous day.
