Joplin reports three COVID-19 deaths, 71 cases in 24 hours


The City of Joplin's COVID-19 death toll hit 65 today with the Joplin Health Department reporting three deaths.

The fatalities included two resident of long-term care facilities- a 75-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, and a 77-year-old man. 

The department confirmed 71 new cases in 24 hours, according to statistics posted on the city's COVID-19 dashboard Tuesday evening, bringing the city's total to 3,768, including 333 active cases.

The number of coronavirus patients in Joplin hospitals is nearing 100 again with 97 posted, including 20 city residents.
