JC Penney is emerging from bankruptcy, but that won't stop the closure of more locations.
The company has announced the closing of 15 more stores and approximately 165 since it filed for bankruptcy.
The list includes the West Plains, Missouri store, but the anchor store at Joplin's Northpark Mall is not on the list.
At the time of its bankruptcy filing, JC Penney said it expected to close 242 brick-and-mortar locations or 29% of its total portfolio of 846 stores. The company also laid off 1,000 employees from corporate, field management, and international positions.
