A committee appointed by the Joplin R-8 Board of Education selected Dover Hill as the name for the new elementary school and the board approved that decision a few moments ago.
Construction of Dover Hill Elementary was made possible by district voters in June when they approved a bond issue proposal.
The new school will replace the outdated West Central and Columbia elementary schools.
