The Joplin R-8 Board of Education will move forward with renovation plans for the Dewey Combs Sports Complex at Junge Field when it meets 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Memorial Administration Building.
The renovations will be funded through the sale of advertising and though only a month has passed since the project was initially discussed by the board, documentation provided for this meeting indicates the district has already secured $550,000 in advertising agreements.
The board will decide on administrators' recommendation to pay $243,741.70 for a video scoreboard out of the district's capital fund with the money being reimbursed from the advertising agreements.
If the board gives the go ahead as expected, an additional $70,658 will be paid for installation of the board, also from the capital fund.
