(By Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)
This week saw multiple attempts by Speaker Pelosi and her party to sow more division within our nation — instead of working to bring Americans together.
One of these tactics by Democrats was to pass a resolution urging Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove President Trump from office.
Speaker Pelosi also had the House vote on an article of impeachment against the president for the second time in 13 months. Once again, I did not support these efforts — and here’s why.
America is hurting. After a year of riots in our streets, COVID restrictions and health challenges, and a contentious election, our citizens need healing — not further actions which tear us apart. This latest push by Speaker Pelosi and Democrats to impeach a duly-elected president seven days shy of leaving office does nothing to bridge this gap or work towards President-elect Biden’s declared ‘Unity’ message, instead further dividing our nation.
It’s already been made clear: Congress certified the 2020 presidential results and this election is over. We owe it to our nation to move past these divisive tactics and work towards bringing America — and our communities — together.
For Republicans & conservative commentators seeking to foster unity, here's a phrase you could tweet or say: "I lied about election fraud in our president election last November. I apologize. President-elect Joe Biden won a free and fair election. Mr. Trump lost." #JustDoIt.

ReplyDeleteSasse Statement on Rioters Attempting to Capture and Assassinate the Vice President
January 15, 2021
U.S. Senator Ben Sasse issued the following statement after the Department of Justice stated in court documents that members of the riot at the United States Capitol aimed "to capture and assassinate elected officials.”
“Rage-peddlers are going to try to whitewash the attack on the Capitol, saying that a few bad apples got out of control. That’s wrong. Every American needs to understand what the Department of Justice has just made public: Investigators have strong evidence to suggest that some of the rioters who stormed the United States Capitol planned to kidnap and possibly assassinate the Vice President. These men weren’t drunks who got rowdy — they were terrorists attacking this country’s constitutionally-mandated transfer of power. They failed, but they came dangerously close to starting a bloody constitutional crisis. They must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The FBI is investigating widespread calls for violence across the country and every American has an obligation to lower the temperature.”

Just STFU!
ReplyDeleteDuring the last 100 hours of the Trump administration, the capital has been sealed off and flooded with 25,000 military troops to keep the president’s own supporters from attacking and disrupting the transfer of power. America can never forget that.
ReplyDeleteParty First branded Republican who has always back the loser Trump who helped incite a seditious invasion of the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow an election he lost wants to blame the other side for the division.
ReplyDeleteShe's a party hack whose coddling of Trump makes her no better than the thugs that actually invaded the Capitol.
Looks like Randy Turner's blog has turned into BLM/Antifa Joplin.
ReplyDeleteNow be sure to approve every single one of these antifa anti-white posts Randy and show us all again in the Joplin area that you hate us all but some more than others.
I'm hoping that the Republican Congress members will sign onto a Missouri Secession Plan and get ua Missourians out of the decaying empire just in time for the Missouri Bi-Centennial.
