Roy Blunt explains vote: Impeachment is not a tool to be used to settle scores against a private citizen

(From Sen Roy Blunt, R-MO)

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today after voting against the conviction of former President Donald Trump:

“I said before this trial started that I believe the constitutional purpose for presidential impeachment is to remove a president from office, not to punish a person after they have left office.

"None of the arguments presented changed my view that this was an unconstitutional proceeding. Impeachment is not a tool that should be used to settle political scores against a private citizen.”

The hatred from the left knows no bounds.
    However, they lost again.
I wonder who they are going to blame for all of Slow Joe's Administrations blunders over the next 4 years, as the economy tanks, the Covid death rate continues to climb, millions are without food and shelter, and illegal immigrants and criminals run rampant.

No Trump to blame anymore, guess they will have to take a good look in the mirror.

Hope all the Dems remember this day, it will be the best one of The Biden Administration. There is nowhere else to go but down.

My mom always told me, be careful what you wish for. Well, Dems elected their candidate, not because he was a good choice, but because of their hatred for Trump. Now they and their families will suffer along with the rest of the country, unfortunately.

They will long for the days when Trump was our President.

May God have mercy on The United States of America.

He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.

    Benjamin Franklin

Applies to equally to both all the Republican Senators who voted yesterday to acquit on impeachment , and to the few posters who post their Trump worship droolings here.

So treason is constitutional in this country. Some of the same GOP dumbasses who voted to acquit feared for their lives on January 6. there will be a special place in hell for them.

Interesting comments. How are families going to suffer as in 1:25 AM when they are probably going to get some money for being unemployed, get some healthcare initiatives, get a possible rise in minimum wage, get a chance for Covid shot, get some legislation enacted to slow or eliminate gerrymandering that disenfranchises minorities and possibly get rid of the right wing nutcases abounding now due to their idiot, feeble minded and racist leader otherwise know as orange hair.
