Jasper man described as "youth group leader at large Joplin church" charged with statutory rape

A Jasper man described as "a youth group leader at a very large church in Joplin," and as a "child predator" in the probable cause statement is being held in the Jasper County Jail on a felony statutory rape charge.

Bond for John Vincent Estes, 27, is set at $25,000 cash and $25,000 surety.

The Jasper Police Department arrested Estes following an investigation into a sexual assault involving a juvenile girl.

From the probable cause statement written by Jasper Police Chief Chad Karr:

Information was given that a sexual assault and sexual abuse occurred on 11/23/2021 and 11/24/2021 at (a location) in Jasper, Missouri. The suspect was identified as John V. Estes, the victim being a juvenile female.

It was disclosed by (the girl) during a forensic interview that while at a friend's house (in) Jasper, Missouri, (she) woke up to Estes rubbing her back while she was lying on a mattress in the living room. Estes then took (the girl) to the garage and had sexual intercourse with her.

On 12-1-2021, Estes admitted to giving both (the girl) and her friend a back massage. Estes also stated he laid in between the girls on the mattresses in the living room for about an hour.

Estes refused to give a sample of his saliva for DNA comparison.

On the Jasper Police Department Facebook page, Karr indicated that not only did Estes claim to be a youth leader at a church, but that the Carthage Police Department arrested him for child molestation six years ago.

This was a predator type incident where through investigation it was shown that the suspect used text messaging and other means to lure and attempt to lure the juvenile to his residence. Estes also said he is a youth leader on the student ministries team at a large church in Joplin, but was previously at the Carthage congregation of the same church.

Estes has a previous arrest in 2015 by Carthage Police Department for child molestation-2nd degree.

What is Wrong - Every Week there is a Another Pedophile Arrested for an Act Against a Child in our Community - WE HAVE GOT TO SEND A MESSAGE - THAT IF YOU HURT A CHILD - YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH IT...

Let's Get these SICK PERVERTED INDIVIDUALS OFF THE STREETS - - THEY NEED LIFE OR LONG TERM INCARCERATION - STOP CUDDLING THESE INDIVIDUALS - THEY CANNOT BE REFORMED - THEY DO NOT NEED 2nd or 3rd CHANCE ON THE STREET TO COMMIT ANOTHER CRIME AGAINST A CHILD.

It is my experience that churches are way to trusting. Predators take advantage of this. They know that church people tend to be naive.
God does teach us to love and show love to everyone, but you have to remain cautious and vigilant.
The worst kind of person, is the one that uses the church as a cover, to perpetrate their bad behavior against others. Especially against children or the elderly.

Any person that is placed in a leadership position, especially at a church, should be vetted, criminal background check and references.
The church cannot afford to be slandered. Too many snake oil salesmen have already made people sceptical and critical of the church
ALL pedophiles should be executed anyway. They cannot be rehabilitated.
I say put them down within 30 days of their conviction.

Or maybe it is that the churches are the largest sex traffic ring in America!!! Everyone wants to trust the church. So they take full advantage!!! You might just be blaming the person for doing their job within the ranks. 🤷‍♂️

That church needs to buy a clue or two!
