Vicky Hartzler: January 6 committee is following liberal agenda

Thursday marked one year since the unrest in Washington on January 6, 2021. As I said last year, those who broke the law on that day should be held accountable for their actions.

Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi and Democrats have used this day as an excuse to disparage conservatives, vastly expand our federal government, and target our former president. This is a gross misuse of political power at a time when America is faced with multiple crises caused by the Biden administration.

Instead of a sham committee on the events of January 6 that is covering up Speaker Pelosi’s mishandling of intelligence and lack of security preparation, we should be investigating the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the alleged personal rights violations towards January 6th detainees, and the skyrocketing violent crime that has inflicted our nation’s cities.

The American people deserve a government who works for them – not liberal agendas. I will continue to fight for you and your family in Washington.
