A Joplin man who was already charged with kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old East Prairie girl in January, has been charged with raping and kidnapping another 13-year-old girl, this one from Mississippi County, Missouri in July.
The new charges, statutory rape, kidnapping and two counts of statutory sodomy were filed this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court against Grant Henson, 19.
Mississippi County authorities issued a warrant for Henson's arrest February 1, according to online court records, charging him with kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.
Henson is being held without bond in the Jasper County Jail.
A Jasper County Sheriff's Office news release issued after Henson's arrest detailed the original charges.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, Jasper County Deputies responded to a check on the welfare of a 13-year-old female juvenile who was reported missing out of East Prairie, Missouri.During the investigation, it was found that 19-year-old, Grant Henson had driven 5 hours to East Prairie, Missouri where he picked up the 13-year-old girl and drove her back to Jasper County to his residence located at 4183 W. Cactus Lane in Joplin where she was held against her will and sexually assaulted.
Grant was arrested and charges were filed by the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office for Kidnapping 1st and Sodomy 1st. There is no bond for Grant.
Also discovered during the investigation, Bryan Henson, 22, was found with a 16-year-old female juvenile at the residence on Cactus Lane. Bryan was arrested and charges were filed for Statutory Rape 2nd with a $100,000 bond.
