Search of Great Southern robbery suspect's apartment comes up empty

The execution of a federal search warrant at the Anderson apartment complex where bank robbery suspect Vincent Gepson lives turned up nothing, according to documents filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Gepson, 63, has been charged with the May 9 robbery of Great Southern Bank on Range Line in Joplin.

Gepson put himself on the Joplin Police Department's radar for the crime when someone posted the bank surveillance photo from the JPD Facebook page on Gepson's Facebook page and he called the department to make sure they knew it was not him in that photo.

An examination of mug shots taken of Gepson from previous encounters with the JPD convinced officers that Gepson was their man.

The search warrant was executed May 11 at 500 Tatum Street in Anderson, with FBI agents searching for U. S. currency, receipts for purchases or bank deposits on or after May 9, a blue long-sleeve shirt, bluejeans, sunglasses, sneakers, a gold ring and firearms or replica firearms, according to the search warrant return.

Those items were not found.
