White-associated PAC pours more than $100K into negative ads against Carter


Don't expect to receive any relief from the negative flyers that have been filling our mailboxes or the negative advertising that dominates the airwaves until August 2 is in the rearview mirror.

A 24-hour report filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission shows the Southwest Missouri Patriot PAC. which MEC records indicate is affiliated with Sen. Bill White, R-Joplin, spent $14,768.20 today for direct mailing.

A report filed three days ago with the Commission showed $20,000 being spent on broadcast media.







The spending was already underway well before the two most recent reports

The PAC's 8-days-before-election report shows $59,072.80 spent for direct mailing, $11,000 for broadcast media and $2,500 for research during the first three weeks of July.

Those contributing to the advertising blitz since the first of the month:

Missouri Pork Producers, Columbia, $2,500
Craig and Nancy Schnuck, St. Louis, $2,500
POL Pac, Jefferson City, $2,400
Missouri Dental PAC, Jefferson City, $2,000
Lincoln PAC, Springfield, $7,500
Missouri American Water, St. Louis, $5,000
Missouri Realtors, Columbia, $2,500
NEMO Leadership, Jefferson City, $5,001
AGC of MO PAC, St. Louis, $2,000

The Southwest Missouri Patriot PAC raised $62,401 and spent $77,436.70 during the first three weeks of the month.
