The Carthage R-9 School District's no-tax bond issue proposal to build a performing arts center at Carthage High School received more than a simple majority, but that wasn't enough.
The proposal needed 57.1 percent to pass and with 2,474 voting yes and 2,238 no votes, it only received 52.5 percent.
Any thoughts on why the proposal failed.
