(From the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney)Audra Shelly Joyce, 51, Lamar, entered a guilty plea on June 1, 2022, in the Circuit Court of Barton County, Missouri. Joyce pleaded guilty to the class A felony of trafficking in the first degree, the class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and the class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon for events occurring on May 1, 2019, wherein the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team and the Lamar Police Department, served a search warrant at a residence located at 1705 Cherry in Lamar.
Judge David Munton ordered a Sentence Assessment Report be prepared by Missouri Probation and Parole.
On August 11, 2022, a sentencing hearing was held. Judge Munton sentenced Joyce to 25 years on the class A felony of trafficking in the first degree, 7 years on the class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and 4 years on the class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon, sentences to run concurrently.
Joyce is being held in the Jasper County jail awaiting transportation to the Department of Corrections.

Yes - Finally a Judge in the Jasper / Newton Counties Areas - that Steps up and Sentences a Criminal to Pay for their Crimes - - I wish all the Local Judges / Prosecutors - would get a Backbone - and Stop Feeling Sorry for the Criminals and Start Feeling Sorry for the Victims.
