KSN anchor Andy Searcy hired for Carthage R-9 teaching position


Andy Searcy, KSN 6 and 10 p.m anchor since October 2021 and previously a news anchor and sports anchor at KODE since 2003, is moving into the classroom.

The Carthage R-9 Board of Education hired Searcy as broadcasting teacher at Carthage Technical Center during a closed session Monday.

Searcy has a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Missouri Southern State University.

In addition to his television background, Searcy was host of a sports talk show on 1340 AM in Pittsburg and did play-by-play for high school games in southeast Kansas, was a sideline reporter on Missouri Southern State University football games and a color commentator on the university's basketball games.
