Rep. Ben Baker, R-Neosho, likes to use his Twitter account to burnish his "conservative" credentials and did so again about an hour ago.
While I’m filling out my ballot to absentee vote yesterday, a man comes in to switch his voter registration to Republican because “Trump was indicted and I’m mad as $&@#”
For instance, people do not register as Democrats or Republicans in Missouri, so this man, if he existed, was surely disappointed to find out that he not only couldn't change his registration, but he did not have a registration with any party in the first place.
If he were an independent, you would think the man would be aware he has the option of choosing a Democratic ballot, a Republican ballot or a Libertarian ballot during primary elections, which would indicate he was not registered as anything except as a Newton County voter.
Of course, Baker's tweet may have simply been a way for Baker to let his followers know that people in Newton County are incensed about the Trump indictment. That wouldn't surprise anyone and wouldn't make for much of a tweet, but the idea that a Democrat would be so filled with outrage that he would shift his allegiance to the Republican Party, seems a bit far-fetched.
And who could ever believe something far-fetched could come from the mind of Ben Baker?
(Correction: I am told by Barton County Clerk Nikki Hasson that voters can now register as a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or whatever, but are not required to do. That doesn't make me believe Ben Baker's story, but I was wrong about party registration.)
Baker is a joke and an absolute embarrassment in Newton County.
ReplyDeletebaker is completely under qualified and entirely out of touch with reality, (except to his ardent bucket of marginally educated fear mongering white deplorables). Keep attempting to keep yourself relevant through stupidity benny, you're kinda like watching an old sitcom from yesteryear that's ran out of ideas....
ReplyDelete.useless and boring.
