Carthage legislator files paperwork to run for state treasurer


Term-limited Rep. Cody Smith, R-Carthage, has filed paperwork with the Missouri Ethics Commission to run for state treasurer in 2024. Smith has been House Budget Committee Chairman for the past four years.

Smith was first elected to the House in 2016.
