The McDonald County R-1 School District has hired Beverly Carpenter, Webb City Middle School assistant principal, as the new principal at Rocky Comfort Elementary.
In addition to her administrative experience, Carpenter, who received her bachelor's degree at Missouri Southern State University and master's degrees from MSSU and William Woods University, has taught third, fourth and sixth grades and served as a Title I instructional coach.
Carpenter replaces Kern Sorrell who will be the principal at Jefferson Elementary in the Joplin R-8 School District.
