Sarcoxie mayor suspends police chief, asks for resignation

Sarcoxie Mayor Don Triplett suspended Police Chief Brandy Corum for two weeks Thursday and has asked for her resignation.

In a message to city residents that was posted on the city's Facebook page Saturday, Triplett did not reveal the reasons for asking for the resignation saying they are "strictly personnel matters."

Corum did not resign. She has the right to appeal the mayor's decision to the City Council.

In the meantime, Triplett said, Tanner Rice will serve as acting chief and the Jasper County Sheriff's Office will provide added coverage.

So I guess the Sarcoxie Police Comedy Hour posts are going to come to an end? What a shame, always great to hear from unprofessional, jack booted thugs.
