A recommendation for increases in the cost of school lunches will be decided by the Joplin R-8 Board of Education when it meets 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 at the Memorial Administration Building.
The item is included in the board's consent agenda, indicating it is likely to be passed without discussion.
The price hikes are due to the increasing cost of food and supplies.
The price increases are as follows:
Elementary lunches $1.90 to $2
Middle school lunches $2.05 to $2.15
High school lunches $2.25 to $2.35
Adult lunches $3.10 to $3.25
