The Neosho R-5 School District will pay $11,087.52 to the Missouri School Boards Association to help the board of education in its search for a superintendent to replace Jim Cummins, who will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
The process begins with MSBA helping the board develop materials to advertise the position, the school district and the community, then work with the board to develop criteria and qualifications for candidates.
MSBA will develop a group of top candidates and the board will determine which of those candidates should be brought in for interviews.
MSBA will conduct a seminar to prepare the board for candidate interviews. If the board wants MSBA representatives to sit in on the interviews, the district will have to pay an additional daily consulting rate, according to the agreement.
If the person who is eventually hired is fired within one year, MSBA will help in the next search free of charge, except for "actual expenses," the agreement says.

In other business, the board will conduct the annual tax rate hearing and will set the operating tax levy at $3.7198 with $0.25 designated for capital projects. In addition, the debt service levy shall be set at $0.64.

So in other words, the neosho sup job is so unattractive it requires paying an outside organization nearly $12000. to find a new one?
ReplyDeleteJust the opposite of your statement. The board is smart seeking the help of MSBA. This is one of the most important positions in our community. I say the extra knowledge and insight is just what we need. My guess is that we will have 60+ apply.
DeleteJim Cummins has broke them.
ReplyDeletePlease elaborate on your outrageous statement. Please provide the financial proof of your claim. Surely you have proof or you wouldn't spew this statement.
