Sentencing date set for Carl Junction man for sexual exploitation of a minor

A 10:30 a.m. September 19 sentencing date has been set in U. S. District Court in Springfield for Mark Comer, 43, Carl Junction, who pleaded guilty in March to sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the investigation of Comer began when a 13-year-old girl told the Carl Junction Police Department she had been sexually abused multiple times by Comer when she was 10 to 11 years old.

While the Carl Junction police investigated that allegation, it received a report that Comer had molested a 10-year-old boy multiple times.

A search warrant execution revealed a considerable amount of child pornography on Comer's computer, according to the probable cause affidavit.
