Investigation of theft at Webb City Walmart leads to Purcell woman's arrest for trafficking meth, fentanyl

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed a drug trafficking charge against a Purcell woman today following the Webb City Police Department's investigation into a theft at Walmart.

According to the probable cause statement, the police answered a call about a theft in progress at Walmart and arrested Nancy Marie Wilson (DOB 1971) for stealing.

A search of Wilson's and her belongings prior to her being transported to the city jail turned up a pipe with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl, the probable cause statement said.

Located in Wilsons purse was a tin with six multi-colored bags. Inside three of the bags was a white, crystal-like substance. The remaining bags contained white powder residue. The substance in the bags field tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Bond for Wilson was set at $5,000 cash or surety.
