The November report of Ryan T. West, Neosho School District Police Department chief, notes the department had 31 incident reports during the month, including criminal investigations of theft, assaults and drug offenses.
The report was included in information provided to the Neosho R-5 Board of Education during its meeting Monday.
West said his department also "assisted local agencies with several child abuse investigations."
The following items were also included in the report:
-The department conducted 22 home visits concerning attendance and "parent engagement issues."
-New district radios have arrived and are being programmed and distributed
-The department participated in Neosho's Trunk or Treat and led the annual Neosho Christmas Parade.
The department consists of West and three officers.
Great job. This new school officer team has done more in Neosho than the whole city police force. Possibly why both the Neosho School and Crowder College broke off their relationship with the current city leadership and created their own department.
