(From Carthage R-9 School District)This afternoon around 2:00, we were notified of a confirmed case of Neisseria Meningitis in a student at Steadley Elementary.
Working closely with the Jasper County Health Department, we're taking necessary precautions, including a deep clean of the building and contact tracing.
Parents of students in close contact will be contacted directly.
If your child shows symptoms like fever, headache, stiff neck, rash, or anything unusual, Jasper County Health Department recommends seeking medical attention immediately. Your child's safety is our top priority.
