A Neosho man is being held without bond after being charged in Newton County Circuit Court with first degree assault in connection with a brutal beating today outside of Darla's Liquor in Seneca.
From the probable cause statement:
I then went to Freeman west to try and get in update on {the victim's} condition. Once at the hospital, {he} was still mostly unconscious, but I was able to speak to the doctor treating {him}.
The doctor informed me that so far they had discovered several facial fractures on the left side of his face two of them being very large fractures and on the right side of head he was bleeding from the brain and that was potentially life threatening at this time.
We located Joshua in a bedroom left of the front door at the end of a hallway. Joshua was passed out on a bed and I did observe that his knuckles were swollen with fresh cuts on them still bleeding. We grabbed Joshua by each arm and secured him into handcuffs. Joshua was then secured into my patrol car and transported to the Newton County Jail without incident.
While at the jail while Joshua was yelling after being placed in the restraint chair he stated, “I’m not saying I’m guilty but he deserved it.”
