Webb City man accused of using counterfeit $20 bill to buy lottery tickets

A Webb City man was charged in Jasper County Circuit Court today with counterfeiting after allegedly using a fake $20 bill to buy lottery tickets at the Murphy's station at 1224 S. Madison in Webb City Friday.

The Webb City Police Department was able to identify Christopher Owens and the vehicle he was driving (DOB 1985) through surveillance camera footage. During a traffic stop on that vehicle, Owens was found carrying another counterfeit $20 bill, according to the probable cause statement.

Christopher Owens, is in a lot of trouble over a counterfeit $20 Bill. If he had invested that much time and effort into working a job he could have easily afforded his spending spree of buying lottery tickets. What people do to take short-cuts in life!
