Sen. Bill Eigel, who is running for governor, posted the following statement on X concerning the decision by Sen. Jill Carter, R-Granby, to resign from the Freedom Caucus:I’ve received many questions about this. Regardless of how you see this, the situation is a reminder to always keep your elected officials in your prayers.
They are under a tremendous amount of pressure to conform, comply, and go along with the status quo.
I’ve gotten to know @JillCarter32 pretty well over the past year and a half. She is a conservative, thoughtful, and articulate Senator.
Nobody wins when commitments are broken so publicly on Senate floor, and many of the folks celebrating this fracture don’t share Jill’s belief set to begin with.
Indeed, they are ecstatic that this fracture might mean she will not challenge the Jefferson City Swamp in the future as a result. I am optimistic that won’t happen with Jill. She’s been through much tougher situations than the Missouri Senate. She will remain in my prayers.

Very clever publicity stunt, from a true member of the CYA! ( heard of the CYA? It’s another branch of big government like the FBI, IRS and CIA! The busiest branch though is definitely the CYA!!!!)
Unfortunately behind the scenes he is a brow-beating, manipulative individual who is only happy when he gets his way. If he is governor, will he try to control the whole legislature in the same way?
