The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed a felony harassment charge today against a woman who allegedly left a series of voice messages to a Sarcoxie man threatening to kill him, bury him alive and proclaiming she was his "worse f---ing nightmare."

An arrest warrant was issued for Jennifer Joyce Mitchell (DOB 1979), Brookline Station, with bond set at $15,000 surety or $2,000 cash.

From the probable cause statement:

On April 15, 2025 through May 24, 2025, Jennifer called and texted {the victim} multiple times along with several voicemails making statements that she is going to kill him and watch him die a slow and painful death.

Jennifer then made statements that she will go after Joseph's family members and friends, as well.

{The victim} stated he is in fear for his life and feels like Jennifer withdrew $30,000 in cash to hire a hit man to murder him because of the statements she had made to {him and another man.}

A text from Jennifer states, "Remember I told you that I talk to my dad. We set you up...you killed my spirit and you must pay for what you've done to me. My family heard the entire performance and I ogt a standing ovation you lil b---h. I'm coming for you. Me and my dad are going to slowly kill you."

Another text from Jennifer states, "You know what!!!! I'm here to bury you alive. I'm gonna make you beg for your last breath just like you made me beg you. I'm your worst F---ing nightmare.

The case was investigated by the Sarcoxie Police Department.
