Terrorist threat charge filed after gun incident at Fred Hughes Stadium

Terroristic threat and armed criminal actions charges were filed in Jasper County Circuit Court today against a Topeka, Kansas man who threatened to shoot someone.

An arrest warrant was served on Shad Kyle Allen Morris (DOB 1994) Monday, according to Jasper County Circuit Court records.

From the probable cause statement:

On June 21, 2025, at 10 N Duquesne Road, Joplin, Missouri, Jasper County, Shad Morris committed the offense of terroristic threats second degree, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Officers were dispatched to Fred Hughes Stadium in reference to a disturbance with a weapon.

Upon arrival, I was informed that there was an altercation on the football field but the situation had already been defused. Witness 1 stated that while Shad Morris walked out of the locker room and inserted himself into the disturbance, Morris walked through a crowd of over 100 people, he had his hand in the front abdomen of his pants as if he had a gun while threatening them.

He was yelling at the crowd stating that he had his conceal and carry and that he would shoot one of the individuals in the crowd.

Witness 2 stated that they thought they observed a black handgun in his hand while in his pants. When he threatened them, the crowd of people started to flee the area, upset due to the threats.

Witness 2 stated that he had a video of the incident. I watched the video and observed Morris with his hand in the front abdomen of his pants acting like he had a gun. In the video, he also stated that he had his conceal and carry so he was able to carry.

Morris stated that he did put his hand in the front of his pants to insinuate that he had a gun on him during the altercation.

A black .45 caliber Glock was located under the driver seat of his black Ford F150 that he was initially contacted in.

The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.

    So many questions
1, What was going inside the stadium that would cause a 31 year old grown man to threaten a group of people with a weapon?
2, Whatever the event was, why would MSSU knowingly allow an event that has these type of people to take place at its venues?
    3, Where was campus security?
4, Regardless of concealed carry laws and regulations, as a state funded institution, I was under the impression that the campus was a gun/weapon free zone and no weapons were allowed on campus regardless of an individuals concealed carry status?

Again, Shad Kyle Allen Morris, is a NUT CASE - Take away his Right to Carry and Own a Gun - He has Lost that Privilege.

You, whomever made previous statements about Shad Kyle Allen Morris, should maybe think about getting a job because you have too much time on your hands.
