Neosho man charged with domestic assault, manufacturing meth

A Neosho man pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Newton County Circuit Court  today on charges of domestic assault and manufacturing a controlled substance.

Clinton Wayne Bond (DOB 1980) is being held without bond. A bond reduction hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. November 4.

According to the probable cause statement, the alleged assault began after the victim discovered child pornography on Bond's computer.

The woman shut the door to the home office and locked it, but Bond "forced his way through the locked door, grabbed her and threw her on the ground and dragged her by the throat and choked her from four to eight seconds to where she could not breathe and feared for her life," according to the probable cause statement.

After she was on the floor, Bond kicked her several times, the statement said, then took her phone.

During a search of the property for the phone,  Newton County Sheriff's deputies came across a meth lab.

Clinton was transported to jail and was advised of his rights again, and when asked if he wanted to talk about the meth lab on the property, he put his head down and said he did not want to talk about it.

The probable cause statement said Bond "is under investigation for possession of child pornography," but at this point, he has not been charged with that crime.
