Following a motion by the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office, today Judge Frederick Maradeth dismissed the leaving the scene of a fatal crash charge against Rocco Joseph, Joplin.
The dismissal comes two days after the judge sentenced Joseph's father, Joplin dentist Dr. John Joseph, to 12 months on probation on an amended charge of interfering with law enforcement.
The Josephs were charged in connection with their roles in the August 19, 2023 hit-and-run death of Gary LaTurner, 60, Galena.

He literally did exactly what he was charged with

ReplyDeleteWTAF!
ReplyDeleteUnreal
ReplyDeleteTrashy family getting away with murder, worthless spineless judge and prosecutor. The scum of the earth all in one courtroom.
ReplyDeleteDon’t forget about the victim and his friends and family.
Absolutely agree money talks
DeleteWonder if they would have dropped the charges against you or I if we killed someone, left the scene, came back, then left again?
ReplyDeleteNot a chance Money Talks Drug Money to
DeleteThe Cherokee District Attorney and the Judges are going to have a very nice Christmas, with all the payoffs and deals they are cutting. This is just unbelievable, how in the Hell did Gary LaTurner die - by hit-and-run. It literally spells out the Crimes that both the Josephs, Son and Father Committed and tried to cover up - what do you need to do to be found guilty in Cherokee County, Kill somebody - No, they won't prosecute or find anyone guilty?
ReplyDeleteJudge Frederick Maradeth and the Prosecuting Attorney are POS 💩.
What a mockery of Justice for Gary LaTurner and his Family.
Gary Laturner’s family needs to file a civil lawsuit against both the son and the father. If they can’t be punished by the law, then let them have to pay out big bucks. What happened in these court proceedings is not right. They left him to lay out there all night and die alone, when he may very well have been saved. They killed him by not offering any assistance of calling the police and EMS.
ReplyDeleteYes they do! What a horrible justice system in Cherokee County, they should be ashamed…taking a life and only consequence is probation! Complete BS!
DeleteGary Laturner is dead because of cowards!
ReplyDeleteRocco is a coward
John Joseph is a coward
Frederick Maradeth is a coward
And the prosecutor is a coward I wish I knew his or her name to put on here so people will not forget.
Civil sue these fools make them so broke they have no more influence in our area
Sounds like "Just us" wealth, Good old boy, Corruption! Cherokee is a swamp in Kansas.
ReplyDeleteThe family's of LaTurner and Joseph reach a mutual agreement, as a result of the agreement the charges were dismissed. Not all information is made available to the public. In other words they settled out of court.
ReplyDeleteThat would make sense if this was a civil trial and not a criminal trial.
DeleteJoplin mafia.
ReplyDelete8:33PM, You are assuming. The Family might have influence on the sentence; this should have been a Criminal Case in which the State holds all the cards. If it was a Civil Case then Agreements and Settlements could be on the table - The Family needs to immediately sue them in Civil Court to get some justice - and a Financial Settlement - but this will never bring back Mr. LaTurner - nor the belief in our Judicial System - with Judges and Prosecuting Attorneys that got their Law Degrees from Give-Me-A-Sweet Deal University.
