The Danville Police Department issued the following news release:
In collaboration with the Vermilion County States Attorney’s Office, Trevon M. Lake, 30 years old, of Danville, Illinois was booked on charges of First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon regarding this shooting incident.Lake was originally being held on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Danville Police Department or Vermilion County Crimestoppers at (217) 446-TIPS.

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 1:26 a.m., Danville Police officers were dispatched to Scooters Bar, located at 1114 E. Voorhees Street, in response to a report of shots fired. While en route, officers were advised that a shooting victim remained on scene.Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
At approximately 1:34 a.m., Danville Police were notified that a second male subject had arrived at the OSF Emergency Room with a gunshot wound. The injury was determined to be non-life threatening. After receiving treatment, the male was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was booked on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
