Joplin man arrested after allegedly stabbing girlfriend multiple times

(From the Joplin Police Department)

On June 15, 2026, around 7:51 a.m., The Joplin Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call about a disturbance with a weapon that had just occurred at 2729 S. Grand Avenue. Joplin Police, Fire, and M.E.T.S. Ambulance were dispatched.

Upon officers’ arrival, they located a female victim identified as Jewel Williams, 22, of Joplin. Williams was suffering from multiple stab wounds to her neck area.

During a preliminary investigation, information was obtained that indicated Williams sustained these injuries during an argument with her boyfriend, identified as Aaron Moore, 22, of Joplin.

During the verbal argument, the incident turned physical, and probable cause was developed to believe Williams had been stabbed by Moore multiple times. Officers believe Moore then stole a phone belonging to Williams and fled the scene on foot.

A short time later, responding officers located Moore around 26th Street and Iowa Avenue. Moore was taken into custody and transported to the Joplin City Jail.

Williams was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital. Williams is considered stable at this time.Police Department

Charges for Moore will be submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office for First Degree Domestic Assault, First Degree Robbery, and Armed Criminal Action.
