Alford introduces Pelosi Act to ban congressional stock trading

(From Fourth District Congressman Mark Alford)

The House recently passed the Stop Insider Trading Act, marking a big step forward.

I've been leading the fight on this issue from the start, which is why I introduced the PELOSI Act to ban Members of Congress, their spouses, and their dependent children from owning or trading individual stocks while serving in office.

At the end of the day, it's simple: the American people deserve to know their elected officials are working for them—not their investment portfolios.

Public service is a privilege, not a pathway to personal profit. I'll keep fighting to restore trust in Congress and putting the American people first.

It should cover all elected officials, and their families, not just those in congress. Insider trading has become a very easy way for elected officials such as Trump to manipulate the stock market, making them incredible amounts of money.

7:39PM - Why do you think they are calling it the Pelosi Act - Says it ALL!

Nancy Pelosi has a Net Worth 2026 of $287-Million - made through Investing by being on Governmental Committees and getting undisclosed information on Companies and Laws/Decisions that would affect those Companies - People would call it INSIDER TRADING - When Nancy Pelosi entered Congress in 1987, her minimum net worth was estimated at approximately $2.6 million, with financial disclosures from that initial year. HOW DID SHE MAKE ALL THAT MONEY - Martha Stewart went to Jail for Insider Trading - Why isn't DRUNK - Nancy Pelosi in Jail?

Also, Donald Trump was a Billionaire before he took office and does not take his $400,000 Annual Salary as President.

Donald Trump - No Pay Taken: He receives the legal paycheck required by law, but gives the money away.
First Term: He gave his salary to various federal agencies like the National Park Service and the Department of Education.
Second Term: He redirected funds to projects such as White House beautification and the creation of a new state ballroom.

Only Presidents - Who Gave Up Their Annual Pay -
Herbert Hoover: Donated his entire presidential salary to various charities, continuing a practice from his prior public service.

John F. Kennedy: Gave his congressional, senatorial, and presidential pay away to charities and foundations.

Donald Trump: Accepted $1 per year and donated his quarterly $100,000 paychecks to various federal agencies and departments, including the National Park Service, Department of Education, and his Beautification Projects and the State Ballroom - - This upsets all the Democratics - who want to continue to blast Trump and yet Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, (aka-Pocahontas, / Liar about being Native American) who make their livings off of Insider Trading.
