(From the Joplin Police Department)Today, July 20th, 2026, marks the 8th year of when Sarah Burton was reported to be missing. We need your help to locate Sarah Burton. As the investigation has continued, it is believed that Sarah was last seen around 10th Street and Rex Avenue on July 16th, 2018. Sarah has not been seen or heard from since.
Following her disappearance, the Joplin Police Department has continued to follow up on leads in this case which exceed 180. Additionally, more than 100 people have been interviewed.
Sarah is described as 5’07”, 160 pounds, with brown hair, and blue eyes. The Joplin Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations are offering a $10,000 reward for information that may lead us to the location of Sarah.
Someone in this community has the power to end a family’s suffering and tell us what happened. Someone knows something to bring some amount of peace and closure to Sarah and her loved ones. It has been eight years of not knowing where Sarah is or what happened to her. Someone knows how to bring some amount of peace and closure to Sarah and her loved ones.

The house being searched by FBI and local law enforcement after finding connections to missing Joplin woman Sarah Burton was frequented by at least one member of the Joplin Honkies gang.

ReplyDeletePer Wiki - She has two children. Burton struggled with addiction to Methamphetamine. She is reported to have been a victim of a violent crime following high school.
Per Wiki - She had a history of legal troubles, including time in prison in 2010. At the time of her disappearance, she was free on bail for charges of drug possession, trafficking in stolen identities, and stealing a motor vehicle.
She dealt with alot of Demons in her life and her story should be a life lesson to many that are following in her foot steps - get off of drugs, stop hanging around with people that just use you, get your life cleaned up and stay healthy, get some schooling or technical training and get a job, become independant and regain your self-respect and dignity, and seek whatever deity that can help bring you peace and comfort in your life. Do this for yourself, your kids, and your family and friends - before it is to late - don't become a statistic!
7:56 most people who turn to drugs and or alcohol are trying to seek an escape from the pain they are dealing with, such as being sexually abused as a child, neglected as a child or even adult trauma. If counseling could be initiated and the person would be willing to deal with the unresolved issues, it would help stop or slow these behaviors that lead to addiction. The drugs and alcohol make them feel better, even if it is for a short time, because they can numb themselves from the underlying pain. But as they continue to use the drugs and or alcohol as crutches, life around them continues to free fall, causing new problems from the drugs and alcohol. Then the addiction continues to grow as does all of their problems. The one time escape suddenly becomes their own made prison. If it only affected just them, that would be one thing, but it also affects everyone around them. Their children, parents, spouses, friends and employers including innocent victims. The addiction causes them to steal to pay for their drugs, vehicle accidents occur because they are impaired while driving, children are born addicted or are neglected and or abused. Their children grow up watching these addictions and frequently repeat the same behaviors, because they likely believe this is how one deals with problems and issues in life. It can become a generational pattern, unfortunately.
