Carterville man killed in crash in Oronogo

A Carterville man was killed in a one-vehicle accident sometime around 7 a.m. today on County Road 230 south of Ivy Road in Oronogo.

The accident occurred when a Black Chevrolet Silverado driven by Charles Clark, 39, Carterville, ran off the left side of the road and crashed with Clark being ejected.

James Harrison from the Jasper County Coroner's office pronounced Clark dead at the scene at 7:24 a.m.

The fatality was the 80th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
