A Joplin woman was killed and a Columbus, Kansas woman suffered serious injures in a 3-vehicle accident 4:31 p.m. Friday on U. S. 69 2.2 miles north of K66.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, a northbound 2005 Buick Rendezvous driven by Shawna S. Novak, Galena, slowed to turn into a driveway.
Anna L. Coberley, 21, Columbus, driving a 2015 Ford Taurus behind the Buick, swerved left of center, struck the Ford on the rear driver's side and then collided head on with a 2014 Nissan Altima driven by Madison M. Macias, 21, Joplin.
Macias was pronounced dead at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
Coberley was treated for serious injuries at Freeman.
