According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by a 25-year-old Liberal man struck two road closed signs and went off the right side of the road.
The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to go off the left side of the road and overturn multiple times.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:02 p.m.
A passenger, a 36-year-old Joplin woman, was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
The fatality was the 99th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
