I was told earlier this week that today's Joplin Globe would feature the names of the students who received four-year, full-ride scholarships to Missouri Southern State University during the Academic Honors signing ceremony nine days ago.
Maybe I missed it, but I looked through the Globe twice and could not find a mention of the ceremony. If it was in there, it was extremely well hidden.
It's not that I have anything against Seneca's prom, or the mating habits of the mosquito (both of which were featured prominently in today's paper), but these people are the hope of tomorrow and they were selected following a strenuous screening process.
The Globe should have been there in person for the story, with photo or photos, and so should some of our other area newspapers.
