I've made a few changes to the sidebar.
Since Diamond Town Forums seems to be nearly defunct (there haven't been any new postings on the site in months), I have placed the Rhetorica Network, an interesting media/education blog published by Dr. Andrew R. Cline, a Southwest Missouri State University professor. Dr. Cline and I participated in the same panel discussion on blogging at the Society for Professional Journalists regional meeting in Springfield in April.
At the bottom of the links, because of the growing readership this blog has in the Springfield area and because many of the readers in Newton and Jasper counties receive the Springfield television stations, I have added the links for KOLR, KSFX, KYTV, and KSPR. KYTV, Channel 3, has been at the top of the news ratings for as long as I can remember, while KSPR's news director is former KODE news director Erik Schrader.
The other two stations, KOLR and KSFX, are in virtually the same situation as KODE and KSNF are in Joplin. KOLR, Channel 10 is allegedly owned by Mission Broadcasting, the same shell company that owns KODE, while KSFX, Springfield's Fox station, is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting.
The Springfield stations face the same situation at the end of this year as far as renewal of their retransmission rights that the area Nexstar and Mission stations faced with Cable One and Cox earlier this year.
I have also added two other Springfield links, The Springfieldian, and Chatter, which is published by former Springfield News-Leader investigative reporter Ron Davis.
At the top of the links, I have added a link to my blogger profile for anyone bored enough to want to find out a little more about the person who writes this blog.
