Wilson praises campaign finance bill
Rep. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, is a firm believer in the campaign finance bill that is awaiting Governor Matt Blunt's signature.
According to his weekly column, in which he briefly reviewed bills passed by the 2006 General Assembly:
HB 1900 – Campaign Finance Reform. This bill made great strides in reforming campaign finance laws and insures that financial disclosure of campaign funding is more transparent and open to the public. Citizens should know who is giving money to which candidates without having to sift through various committees and this measure accomplishes that goal.

One thought on that. All it takes are a few big spenders willing to foot the bill for an extensive television advertising campaign and it won't matter how much disclosure you have. There are a lot more voters who will watch television than who will get on the internet and examine Missouri Ethics Commission documents.
