Bonnie Earl has taken a commanding early lead in the Jasper County Republican primary for county clerk with 1,079 votes to 592 for Connie Mosbaugh and 184 for Jack Stults.
A close race has developed for the Republican nomination for circuit judge Division I where Karl Blanchard leads Gayle Crane 989 to 892.
The Division II race finds Carthage attorney David Mouton leading with 1,327 votes to 384 for Chuck Lonardo and 206 for Donna Kitchen.
