My opinion was no more valuable than Dad's on a Rant or Simple Thoughts or Curbstone Critic. That's the magic of the new news model. Everybody's a competitor. People crave personalized news, and that's why blogs work. Anybody with a search engine can find somebody out there who dishes up the news the way he or she prefers it. With an edge. With a smile. With a left hook or a right. With a chuckle.It's why folks in my business are taking more seriously the idea that we get to know our readers. They want what they want, and if we don't give it to them they'll get it elsewhere.
